CrossFit Open WOD 13.1 is in the books! Burpees and snatches galore for a whopping 17 minutes. Open workout 13.2 comes out today, March 13th, at 5pm pacific time. What are some predictions and hopes for the movements we will see in the workout?
Based on the previous years’ Open competition, you can expect to see the following movements at some point in the next four weeks: double-unders, box jumps, muscle-ups, wall ball shots, toes to bar, pull-ups (probably the chest 2 bar variant), and shoulder to overhead (push press/jerk). Other movements I would expect to see are: deadlifts, power cleans, front squats or overhead squats, and maybe kettlebell swings.
Remember, we will do the CrossFit Open workouts during every class on Friday for the next four weeks. Additionally, to get some extra practice with the movements, we will practice the movements for the Open workout during the skill portion on Thursdays. And…you will also have one last chance to do the Open workouts on Sunday during the 11am class. That’s right, the Sunday 11am class will be your last chance to get to do the workout and earn a spot on the Merge Leaderboard.
Here are the results of the CrossFit Merge Open Leaderboard after the first week:
I will update the Leaderboard every week. Great work from everyone and let’s keep it up.
