Snatches, anyone?

So it’s been officially announced. The second workout of the 2012 CrossFit Games Open Workout is: a whole lot of snatches. How fun is that?! Check out this video put out by CrossFit HQ explaining standards and Richard Froning, Jr (2011 Fittest Man on Earth) demonstrate the WOD.

Wednesday’s Skill

On the minute for 10 minutes
2 thrusters, taken from the ground (should be heavy)

Workout of the Day (WOD):

5 rounds of:
6 clean and jerks (135# for men/93# for women)
12 pull-ups

Beginner’s Skill

Thrusters
3 – 3 – 3 – 3 – 3

Workout of the Day (WOD):

15 min AMRAP:
200 meter run
50 single-unders
10 pull-ups

Power Hour

Back squat

5 – 5 – 5+ reps at around 85% of 1 rep max

Bench Press

Build to a heavy 1 rep then take 65% and try to do 20 reps
